Golf Industry Show Silent Auction
Each year the Golf Industry Show conducts a silent auction to raise money for research, education, and advocacy to benefit the golf course management profession and the future of the game. STEC Equipment believes in supporting organizations like the Golf Industry Show because of the value it brings to the industry and those working in it. To show their ongoing support of the industry, STEC proudly donated the use of its VGR TopChanger for a full week on any golf course in the U.S. valued at $10,000. The recipient of STEC’s 2020 Golf Industry Show donation was the Country Club of Detroit which is managed by Golf Course Superintendent Ross Miller. Team STEC, comprised of owner David Taylor and General Manager Cliff Stewart, will be heading up to Detroit on October 25th for a full week of work. ” We are excited to be heading to this amazing golf course and we look forward to showcasing one of our most innovative machines, the VGR TopChanger, ” says STEC Owner David Taylor.
Donating Course Innovation Technology
The Golf Industry Show Silent Auction raised nearly $143,000 in 2020. “I was thrilled with the success we had this year. I spoke with many of the winning bidders who shared their appreciation for the companies that donated and the quality of the items available,” says Golf Industry Show Fundraising Specialist Katie Lomshek. STEC Equipment will be using and demonstrating the VGR TopChanger and how it improves the quality of the soil. The VGR TopChanger, also known as the WetJect, performs all the actions required to condition the soil in a single pass. Depending on the needs of the soil, you can perform aeration, add soil-improving products, and inject wet or dry sand. “The great thing about the VGR is that it does all three of these tasks with little disruption to the soil which means you have little to no downtime in play,” states Taylor. The VGR TopChanger assures you of a well-maintained course geared to players.
VGR Topchanger is a Gamechanger
The VGR TopChanger performs all the actions required to condition the soil in a single pass. Water injected under high pressure makes a path into the soil creating aeration holes. These pores bring oxygen into the soil. The soil then absorbs the water allowing aeration without leaving any residue on the field of play. If necessary, soil-improving products can be added to the water. The VGR TopChanger also has the ability to fill the pores with wet or dry sand. As all course managers know, and helps the water infiltrate better into the layers of the soil and the result is better drainage. A huge difference-maker in managing greens, tees, and approaches. You can follow the trip online at STEC’s Twitter page or on the STEC Facebook page.
