GKB AERATOR
Compacted synthetic turf fields are a thorn in the side of the Turf Managers. Synthetic turf fields are very prone to compaction due to intensive use, especially with minimal maintenance. Compaction of the fiber/infill will cause a harder playing surface that holds standing water, resulting in injury to the players. De-compaction of synthetic infill is essential to player safety and longevity of life of the field.
Tines on the GKB Aerator reach into the carpet layer, gently lifting and loosening the infill, while a brush on the rear of the machine lightly smoothes it back into the canopy creating a safe playing surface for all.

Decompaction of the entire synthetic turf system can be done with the Aerator. We have equipped the Aerator with rollers that are geared with metal teeth/spikes, these spiked rollers are linked together with a drive chain. As a result of this spiked roller are able to transfer a slight prying effect. Consequently, the compacted pitch will be opened and the technical characteristics from the bottom to the top are returned. The pitch will feel like brand new!

Our decompaction principle has been developed in 2000 together with Desso Sport Systems. Where a regular beam with steel teeth can cause some type of wear by splitting the fiber tips. The possibility of wear with the Aerator is absent. Carbide teeth and synthetic turf pitches might not sound like the best combination at first sight. Nevertheless, because of the slight prying effect (instead of the “scratches” across the pitch from the tines), the Aerator will not damage the fibers.

Because we are contractors as well as machine manufacturers we provide you a “full depth” decompaction machine, with which you can reach an operating speed of 10 km/h. Furthermore, you do not need to stop at the end of a pitch; the Aerator will go where you will go, without shifting the pitch. We can deliver the Aerator in three different types, for further information please regard the product sheets.
