Brushing & Dethatching for Turf Maintenance
Regular brushing and dethatching are essential for keeping both natural and synthetic turf surfaces healthy and clean. Proper care will extend the lifespan and playability of your surfaces.
STEC supplies professional-grade turf brushes and dethatchers from trusted manufacturers, including GKB machines and our own STEC-branded lineup. These machines are designed for golf courses, sports complexes, and training facilities of every kind.
Why Brushing Matters
Whether natural or synthetic, consistent brushing keeps your surface performing like new.
– Fiber and Grass Uprightness: Lifts synthetic turf fibers or natural grass blades to maintain appearance and play quality.
– Infill & Topdressing Management: Distributes infill (like sand or rubber crumb on synthetic surfaces) or topdressing (natural grass) evenly across the surface, ensuring proper support and stability.
– Debris and Dew Removal: Removes leaves, debris, or morning dew that can affect drainage and turf health.
– Consistent Playing Surface: Keeping fibers upright and infill/topdressing distributed evenly creates a consistent and safe playing surface for athletes.
– Damage Prevention: Brushing reduces wear, compaction, and surface damage from traffic or uneven maintenance.
GKB Brush: Synthetic Turf Perfection
Regular surface brushing is critical to maintaining the play and visual characteristics of any synthetic turf pitch. Do it quickly and efficiently with the GKB Brush, which will complete the job in just a few passes.
The Brush is comprised of a 200cm (79”) wide frame fitted with rigged brushes, developed and delivered for optimal redistribution of infill. As standard, the Brush is delivered with two additional side-decks broadening the operating width up to 400cm (157”), improving time and task efficiency. These side-decks are hydraulically folded to enable quick transportation between pitches or simply store the Brush away once the operation is complete.
